The team

Three lawyers, one office on Main Street

Each of us leads one practice. Every plan has a lead lawyer and a second reader, so someone else at the firm knows your file.

  • Hedda Kolbeck in glasses, a white turtleneck and a striped sweater, in black and white

    Hedda Kolbeck

    Founding partner, elder law

Hedda started the firm after years of guardianship and Medicaid work. She meets parents wherever they are, including hospitals and care homes.

  • Felix Varnum in glasses and a dark knit sweater, standing by a tall window

    Felix Varnum

Partner, trusts and special needs planning

Felix drafts the trusts, including special needs trusts for families with a child who gets benefits. He reads every plan the firm writes before it is signed.

  • Kwabena Asante in a plaid shirt, lit from one side against a dark backdrop

    Kwabena Asante

    Attorney, probate and trust administration

Kwabena works with executors and successor trustees after a death. Many of them live out of state, so he does most of it by email and video.

How we share the work

Two readers on every file

  • One lead lawyer

The person you meet first stays your lawyer through signing and every review after.

  • A second reader

Before you see a draft, another lawyer here reads it against your notes and the law.

  • One shared file

Notes, drafts and signed originals live in one file, so anyone here can answer a call about it.

Not sure which of us to ask?

Write a line about what’s going on, and we’ll match you with the lawyer who leads that work.
